Help and Handy began in 2018 as a small handyman business in Brooklyn, NYC.

Founded by Terrence "Tee" Mewborn, the business started with just a few tools, a strong work ethic, and years of experience in the gig economy. Before Help and Handy, Tee worked on TaskRabbit, delivered packages for Amazon, drove for Uber Eats and DoorDash, and even spent time in an Amazon warehouse – all while being a music producer and running a digital marketing agency called WorldWide Business Marketing.

Throughout it all, Tee always had a vision: to create a platform that combines the best of TaskRabbit's handyman services, Amazon's DSP partner network, and Uber's independent contractor model – all in one. Help and Handy is that vision come to life.

In late 2025, with the support of a startup investment from Tee's brother – who passed away on December 16, 2025, just after providing the investment – Help and Handy evolved from a traditional handyman company into a technology-powered marketplace. We relocated to Harlem and re-established ourselves with a new mission: to connect NYC residents with trusted, professional technicians while empowering skilled workers to build their own businesses.

Today, Help and Handy is more than just a service company – we're a platform that honors the entrepreneurial spirit, providing customers with transparent flat-rate pricing and reliable, on-demand service across all five boroughs. Every job we complete reflects our roots: quality work, community focus, and the determination to build something meaningful.
